Claudia’s Beauty Tips


Undoing mascara mistakes:
Have you ever made a boo-boo on your mascara application? And that happened when you were really late for a meeting with no time to touch it up, right? Right.

Solution: Don’t do a thing! Let it dry naturally, then flick it off with your fingernails. It’s that simple!

Removing stubborn eye makeup:
Eye makeup application isn’t fun to begin with, but eye makeup removal is even worse. One, two, and three cleansings…and sometimes you still have makeup, plus itchy and watery eyes.

Solution: Only use water-soluble eye make-up remover. Not baby oil. Not Vaseline. Not oily facial or body cleansers. Don’t use anything that water can’t easily rinse totally off. After you wash your entire face, go back to your eyes and check—if you’re like me, you’ll need a magnifying glass to help you see! If you still have eyeliner or mascara residue, use moistened Q-tips with a tiny bit of water-soluble eye make-up remover and clean the creases. Cleaning dirty makeup from the creases will save you from a lot of future wrinkles!

I have to admit, I can’t do sauna or steam rooms. Some people hate to fly, others hate to swim. I hate heat in a confined room.

No. Not the sauna. It’s something very similar, but much better. It’s called Bikram Hot Yoga. I couldn’t believe that was me, in a 105 degree room for 90 minutes. I did it! Ever since I started, my back pain has disappeared. And I’m loving the added bonus: weight loss. Bikram Hot Yoga was my breakthrough. What’s yours?
 


Brazilian Natural Beauty


For ages, natural ingredients have been used to help the appearance and health of the skin. And Brazilians love that natural look! We’ve tried it all—lotions, creams, cucumbers, avocados, tea bags, grandmom’s recipe and so many other crazy things, all with the promise of treat, hydrate, tone and nourish the skin.

Despite the variety, masks are still the way to go for an inexpensive beauty booster. In few minutes, homemade masks can clean and revitalize skin of any age. And speaking of age, the earlier a mask is used, the better the results.

So let’s go to the kitchen and make some masks!

Attention! Even though the masks are made of natural products, they still pose risks, ranging from simple irritation to severe allergic reaction, so we recommend that you consult your dermatologist before using these masks.


Normal Skin:

1 banana
2 tbs. honey
1 tbs. natural yogurt


Mash the bananas with a fork. Add the honey and yogurt, and mix well. If the mask gets too runny, add another banana. Apply on a clean face, leaving it on for 30 minutes. Rinse well.

ATTENTION: The yogurt reinforces the hydration, but be careful: it should not be used on blemishes and pimples since it is rich in fat.


Dry Skin:

½ avocado
1 tsp. honey

Mix the ingredients and apply on clean face. Leave on for 20 minutes. Rinse off with warm water. Use once a week, as needed.


Normal to oily skin:

¼ avocado
2 strawberries
1 tbs. orange juice

In a blender, mix all ingredients and apply on clean face. Leave on for 30 minutes. Rinse off with warm water. Can be used every 2 weeks.
